Rehoboth Land Trust Wins Grant
Rehoboth Land Trust has secured a grant of $85,000 from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs toward the purchase of a Conservation Restriction on the 92-acre parcel owned by the Oak Hill Beagle Club. The Land Trust is working with a coalition of Town commissions - the Agricultural and Natural Resources Council, the Conservation Commission, the Community Preservation Committee - and The Trustees of Reservations to raise the funds to purchase the permanent restriction. The agreement includes an easement for trail development from Fairview Avenue to the Town Forest which will be open to the public for recreational use. The Land Trust intends to develop signage, a small parking area, and trail maintenance on the open space.
