RLT Spring Hike at the Walter Monroe Conservation Area on May 11
Rehoboth Land Trust board members and friends will lead a free spring hike at the Walter Munroe Conservation Area from 10 to 12 am, Saturday, May 11, 2019, rain or shine. (Partly cloudy is currently predicted!)
We will explore the trails of this wonderful piece of property and look at everything of interest along the way. Birds, amphibians, reptiles and all sorts of invertebrates are becoming more active at this time of year. Spring wildflowers, ferns, and trees are growing by leaps and bounds! All hiking groups will have an experienced naturalist present to help you learn more about Rehoboth flora and fauna.
Come early for refreshments and a spring update of natural history happenings around the Club House by Horton Estates resident and RLT member Ralph Hancewicz. RLT hats will be available for $15 apiece.
Not a member of the Rehoboth Land Trust yet? We can accept donations of any amount (check, please) at our events, or you can conveniently donate online at www.rehobothlandtrust.net.
Parking will be to the left and right of the Community Center/Club House of the Horton Estates development located on Samantha Lane. Use the address 15 Samantha Lane for map apps. Horton Estates/Samantha Lane is just south of Rosie’s Market aka Rehoboth MiniMart (former Cork and Bottle), and is east off Rt 118. The Walter Munroe Conservation Area and Town land is open space to the east of the development.
Be prepared for the weather, wet trails and grass and bring binoculars. We will have some binoculars to loan. Please RSVP to email@example.com. For more information, call Land Trust member Otter Brown at 508-252-6288.
